Alia Riaz serves as Vice President and Assistant Treasurer at Truxton. In this role, she is responsible for managing the bank’s asset-liability exposures, interest rate and liquidity risk, investment portfolio, funding and hedging strategies. She also contributes to financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning, working across departments to support sound financial decision-making and risk management.
Prior to joining Truxton, Alia held progressively senior roles in Treasury at Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), most recently serving as Director of Liquidity and Funding Management. There, she led initiatives in funding planning, regulatory stress testing, collateral oversight, and the implementation of Basel III liquidity standards. Before CIBC, she held roles in asset and liability management and financial markets sales at Standard Chartered Bank.
Alia holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Sussex and is a Chartered Financial Analyst®. She also completed the Applied Data Science Program at MIT Professional Education and holds the Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) certificate from the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).
