
Sam Carden, CFA, CAIA, is Vice President at Truxton Capital Advisors and a Portfolio Manager at Truxton Wealth. In his advisory role, Sam leads mergers and acquisitions (M&A) engagements, capital formation efforts, and broader corporate finance strategy. He works closely with business owners and their advisors from early-stage planning through deal execution, bringing deep experience in valuation, underwriting, and market positioning. Sam also maintains active relationships within the M&A and private capital community to help clients access the right partners and opportunities.
As a Portfolio Manager, Sam oversees investment portfolios for high-net-worth clients, conducts equity research, and evaluates new investment ideas. His approach blends fundamental and quantitative analysis to inform asset allocation and deliver long-term results. He also plays a central role in client communication and investment strategy development.
Before joining Truxton in 2021, Sam worked in equity research at Jefferies covering the healthcare services sector. He previously worked in corporate banking at Regions Bank, where he underwrote over $1 billion in corporate loans, and in counterparty risk management at UBS, where he focused on foreign exchange and exchange traded derivatives.
He holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of Alabama and earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation in 2019 and the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation in 2024. Sam serves on the Board of the CFA Society of Nashville and has been a member of the University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business Board of Visitors since 2022.
